Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.46% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA), which rose 5.31% or 1.71 points to trade at 33.93 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (BMV:ASURB) added 2.45% or 13.02 points to end at 544.17 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) was up 2.42% or 4.11 points to 174.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which lost 6.10% or 0.52 points to trade at 8.00 in late trade. Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA) declined 3.87% or 0.60 points to end at 14.91 and GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) shed 3.41% or 6.07 points to 172.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 148 to 73 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.83% or 21.60 to $2,636.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $69.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $73.38 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.50% to 20.10, while EUR/MXN fell 0.59% to 21.30.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 106.12.
