Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which rose 2.26% or 0.33 points to trade at 14.90 at the close. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) added 1.73% or 3.17 points to end at 186.14 and Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) was up 1.37% or 4.99 points to 368.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which lost 3.61% or 12.64 points to trade at 337.88 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) declined 3.36% or 0.83 points to end at 23.89 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) shed 3.02% or 0.89 points to 28.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 98 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.63% or 16.55 to $2,628.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.58 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.11 to trade at $72.67 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.74% to 20.20, while EUR/MXN rose 0.54% to 21.02.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 107.84.
