Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which rose 2.85% or 0.68 points to trade at 24.50 at the close. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) added 2.76% or 4.59 points to end at 170.94 and Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA) was up 1.89% or 6.31 points to 340.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALSEA), which lost 3.05% or 1.37 points to trade at 43.51 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) declined 1.71% or 0.75 points to end at 43.19 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) shed 1.49% or 2.05 points to 135.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 108 to 68 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.20% or 5.30 to $2,633.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.33% or 0.92 to hit $70.16 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.90 to trade at $73.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.02% to 20.16, while EUR/MXN fell 0.07% to 20.97.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 108.00.
