Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC fell 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 3.29% or 0.32 points to trade at 10.04 at the close. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) added 2.92% or 3.89 points to end at 137.33 and Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO) was up 2.86% or 1.54 points to 55.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which lost 2.73% or 0.47 points to trade at 16.75 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) declined 2.31% or 6.67 points to end at 282.00 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) shed 1.95% or 2.96 points to 149.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 120 to 95 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.93% or 21.70 to $2,309.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $80.66 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $84.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.48% to 18.36, while EUR/MXN rose 1.10% to 19.60.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 105.74.
