Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.16% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC), which rose 2.71% or 4.68 points to trade at 177.35 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) added 1.74% or 2.83 points to end at 165.19 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) was up 1.68% or 3.01 points to 181.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which lost 4.15% or 1.13 points to trade at 26.08 in late trade. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) declined 3.80% or 1.29 points to end at 32.68 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV:KIMBERA) shed 2.69% or 0.76 points to 27.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 113 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.81% or 21.20 to $2,652.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.26% or 0.18 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.20 to trade at $73.11 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.94% to 20.28, while EUR/MXN rose 0.38% to 21.38.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 106.62.
