Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.53% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which rose 2.14% or 0.66 points to trade at 31.56 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 1.78% or 0.430 points to end at 24.570 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 1.23% or 0.380 points to 31.290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico SAB De CV (MX:SANMEXB), which lost 2.98% or 1.100 points to trade at 35.820 in late trade. VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) declined 2.46% or 0.55 points to end at 21.79 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) shed 1.91% or 0.820 points to 42.180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 121 to 99 and 9 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.09% or 14.61 to $1353.61 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.31 to trade at $54.51 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.73% to 17.6569, while EUR/MXN rose 0.19% to 21.2379.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 91.46.
