Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financial Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA), which rose 3.92% or 1.770 points to trade at 46.940 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 3.71% or 0.890 points to end at 24.880 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 2.83% or 4.850 points to 176.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 2.18% or 0.450 points to trade at 20.210 in late trade. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) declined 1.16% or 0.320 points to end at 27.330 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 0.97% or 0.160 points to 16.420.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 121 to 93 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 1.59% or 18.10 to $1159.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.41% or 0.22 to hit $53.84 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.12 to trade at $56.97 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 20.7178, while EUR/MXN fell 0.08% to 21.7305.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.56% at 102.66.
