Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which rose 5.26% or 1.02 points to trade at 20.40 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) added 4.53% or 2.07 points to end at 47.73 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) was up 4.01% or 4.77 points to 123.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which lost 2.56% or 0.59 points to trade at 22.50 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) declined 1.63% or 0.19 points to end at 11.44 and Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV:CHDRAUIB) shed 0.37% or 0.54 points to 145.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 141 to 72 and 18 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 5.85 to $2,673.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.00% or 0.74 to hit $74.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.43 to trade at $78.05 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.28% to 19.29, while EUR/MXN fell 0.91% to 21.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 102.24.
