Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 5.37% or 6.07 points to trade at 119.20 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (BMV:CEMEXCPO) added 4.67% or 0.52 points to end at 11.66 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) was up 3.93% or 4.78 points to 126.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which lost 69.84% or 659.95 points to trade at 285.00 in late trade. Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:PINFRA) declined 3.29% or 6.41 points to end at 188.65 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB) shed 1.99% or 0.54 points to 26.63.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 129 to 111 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.74% or 19.85 to $2,661.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.29% or 0.20 to hit $68.20 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $71.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.19% to 20.40, while EUR/MXN fell 0.56% to 21.41.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 106.39.
