Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods & Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which rose 4.04% or 0.55 points to trade at 14.16 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 4.01% or 0.880 points to end at 22.840 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 3.93% or 3.640 points to 96.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA), which lost 3.59% or 0.64 points to trade at 17.19 in late trade. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 2.99% or 0.540 points to end at 17.550 and Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) shed 2.35% or 5.65 points to 234.29.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 108 and 15 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.93% or 12.00 to $1282.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.03% or 0.60 to hit $57.39 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $62.65 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.00% to 18.5655, while EUR/MXN rose 0.04% to 22.0033.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.22.
