Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB), which rose 2.09% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.63 at the close. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) added 1.76% or 3.24 points to end at 187.76 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:FEMSAUBD) was up 1.20% or 2.11 points to 177.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ELEKTRA), which lost 2.06% or 7.05 points to trade at 335.01 in late trade. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA) declined 1.31% or 1.54 points to end at 116.30 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:Q) shed 1.17% or 2.00 points to 169.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 135 to 70 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.70% or 18.32 to $2,653.82 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.68% or 0.48 to hit $69.62 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.36 to trade at $72.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.32% to 20.21, while EUR/MXN rose 0.49% to 21.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 107.88.
