Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO), which rose 2.71% or 1.07 points to trade at 40.49 at the close. GCC SAB de CV (BMV:GCC) added 2.25% or 3.33 points to end at 151.44 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) was up 2.15% or 7.80 points to 370.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which lost 2.31% or 1.07 points to trade at 45.18 in late trade. Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:AC) declined 1.43% or 2.70 points to end at 186.53 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO) shed 1.31% or 0.59 points to 44.52.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 111 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 7.00 to $2,653.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.38% or 0.27 to hit $70.73 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $73.47 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.10% to 19.43, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 21.60.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 100.65.
