Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which rose 3.78% or 0.93 points to trade at 25.54 at the close. Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:VESTA) added 2.81% or 1.35 points to end at 49.38 and Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO) was up 2.70% or 0.71 points to 27.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:BBAJIOO), which lost 3.11% or 1.37 points to trade at 42.72 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) declined 2.27% or 8.73 points to end at 375.95 and Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) shed 1.94% or 3.18 points to 160.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 54 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.11% or 3.00 to $2,661.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $68.88 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.38 to trade at $72.68 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.73% to 20.43, while EUR/MXN fell 0.88% to 21.57.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 106.13.
