Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO), which rose 2.49% or 0.20 points to trade at 8.23 at the close. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:GCARSOA1) added 1.80% or 2.08 points to end at 117.66 and Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:GRUMAB) was up 1.69% or 5.74 points to 344.98 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA), which lost 2.91% or 0.75 points to trade at 25.06 in late trade. Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV:WALMEX) declined 2.38% or 1.27 points to end at 52.05 and Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB (BMV:VESTA) shed 1.95% or 0.99 points to 49.87.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 165 to 70 and 19 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.75% or 20.00 to $2,671.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.95% or 1.34 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 1.44 to trade at $74.25 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.77% to 20.41, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.38.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 107.03.
