Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Financial Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 4.29% or 1.270 points to trade at 30.850 at the close. Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) added 3.73% or 1.110 points to end at 30.880 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.72% or 1.140 points to 43.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 1.77% or 13.50 points to trade at 750.33 in late trade. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 1.51% or 1.71 points to end at 111.63 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 1.48% or 0.360 points to 23.980.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 130 to 108 and 16 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.38% or 5.14 to $1339.36 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.03% or 0.50 to hit $49.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.57% or 0.84 to trade at $54.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.70% to 17.7746, while EUR/MXN fell 0.67% to 21.1845.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 92.21.
