Meta, Diamondback Energy, Taiwan Semiconductor And More On CNBC's 'Final Trades'

On CNBC’s "Halftime Report Final Trades," Josh Brown of Ritholtz Wealth Management referred to upcoming tech earnings, with Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER), Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP) and PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: PYPL) scheduled to report next week. He added, however, that Uber's results are the one he would be most interested in watching. "There's way more to come," Brown further stated.

Bryn Talkington of Requisite Capital Management named Diamondback Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: FANG) as her final trade.

On Jan. 26, Susquehanna analyst Biju Perincheril maintained Diamondback Energy with a Positive and lowered the price target from $203 to $190.

Steve Weiss of Short Hills Capital Partners recommended owning Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (NYSE: TSM).

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing is reportedly eyeing its second Japanese plant in the same town as its first in Kumamoto prefecture. The critical Apple and Nvidia supplier looks to make a formal announcement on the location of its second factory in February, Nikkei Asia cited farm minister Tetsushi Sakamoto, the House of Representatives lawmaker.

Sarat Sethi picked Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META), which released earnings after the closing bell on Thursday.

Meta reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter financial results, initiated a quarterly dividend 50 cents per share and announced a $50 billion increase to its share repurchase authorization.

Price Action:

  • Diamondback Energy shares fell 0.7% to close at $152.72 on Thursday.
  • Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing gained 0.4% to close at $113.39 on Thursday.
  • Meta shares gained 1.2% to settle at $394.78 during Thursday’s session.
  • Uber shares gained 2.2% to close at $66.73.
  • Shares of Snap fell 0.1% to settle at $15.87 on Thursday.
  • PayPal shares gained 1.1% to close at $62.02 during Thursday’s session.
