Investing.com – Malaysia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Mining and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Sapurakencana Petroleum Bhd (KL:SKPE), which rose 8.33% or 0.20 points to trade at 2.60 at the close. IHH Healthcare Bhd (KL:IHHH) added 1.78% or 0.10 points to end at 5.72 and PPB Group Bhd (KL:PEPT) was up 1.27% or 0.20 points to 16.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included YTL Corporation Bhd (KL:YTLS), which lost 1.81% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.63 in late trade. Genting Bhd (KL:GENT) declined 1.33% or 0.12 points to end at 8.88 and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TLMM) shed 1.33% or 0.10 points to 7.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 44 and 1 ended unchanged on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.59% or 0.84 to $54.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.47% or 0.88 to hit $60.69 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1189.90 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was up 0.64% to 2.7160, while USD/MYR rose 0.22% to 3.7065.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 99.45.
