Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Nordea Bank AB (ST:NDA), which rose 2.76% or 2.35 points to trade at 87.50 at the close. Svenska Handelsbanken ser. A (ST:SHBa) added 2.21% or 2.6 points to end at 120.5 and SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa) was up 1.04% or 0.26 points to 25.28 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atlas Copco AB ser. B (ST:ATCOb), which lost 1.37% or 3.2 points to trade at 231.2 in late trade. Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson B (ST:ERICb) declined 1.10% or 0.68 points to end at 61.27 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) shed 0.95% or 0.93 points to 96.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 268 to 265 and 45 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.48% or 0.23 to $48.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.60% or 0.30 to hit $50.49 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.65 to trade at $1314.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was down 0.32% to 9.6048, while USD/SEK fell 0.03% to 8.5686.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.67.
