Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Recordati (MI:RECI), which rose 3.38% or 0.93 points to trade at 28.43 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) added 1.43% or 0.0027 points to end at 0.1911 and Terna (MI:TRN) was up 0.13% or 0.006 points to 4.556 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MI:SPMI), which lost 3.97% or 0.0147 points to trade at 0.3553 in late trade. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 3.89% or 0.240 points to end at 5.935 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) shed 3.65% or 0.210 points to 5.550.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 325 to 94 and 17 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.46% or 1.54 to $46.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 3.14% or 1.46 to hit $47.94 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.16% or 2.15 to trade at $1343.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1254, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8679.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 95.20.
