Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which rose 0.87% or 0.82 points to trade at 94.58 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.45% or 0.10 points to end at 21.21 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 0.29% or 0.14 points to 47.64 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB), which lost 1.81% or 1.39 points to trade at 75.60 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.51% or 0.195 points to end at 12.765 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 1.30% or 0.750 points to 57.040.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 55 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.75% or 8.80 to $1178.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.47% or 0.24 to hit $51.30 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.15 to trade at $54.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0672, while EUR/GBP fell 0.60% to 0.8417.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 100.81.
