Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp, Railway & Bus and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were CyberAgent Inc (T:4751), which rose 5.15% or 300.0 points to trade at 6130.0 at the close. Ajinomoto Co., Inc. (T:2802) added 2.37% or 45.0 points to end at 1941.5 and Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (T:5541) was up 2.21% or 37.0 points to 1713.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (T:7003), which lost 4.51% or 21.0 points to trade at 445.0 in late trade. Konica Minolta, Inc. (T:4902) declined 4.39% or 15.0 points to end at 327.0 and IHI Corp. (T:7013) shed 3.73% or 58.0 points to 1496.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1751 to 1718 and 215 ended unchanged on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0% to 22.09.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.14% or 0.06 to $42.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $45.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 14.00 to trade at $2012.70 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.46% to 105.50, while EUR/JPY fell 0.27% to 125.46.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 92.578.
