Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Italcementi (MI:ITAI), which fell 0.09% or 0.010 points to trade at 10.570 at the close. Campari (MI:CPRI) fell 0.31% or 0.03 points to end at 9.70 and Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) was down 0.68% or 0.29 points to 42.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unicredit (MI:CRDI), which lost 6.30% or 0.1300 points to trade at 1.9340 in late trade. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) declined 5.61% or 0.192 points to end at 3.228 and Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) shed 4.90% or 0.70 points to 13.59.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 75 and 27 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.08% or 0.04 to $48.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $50.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.69% or 9.35 to trade at $1347.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1317, while EUR/GBP rose 0.63% to 0.8676.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 94.57.
