Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 4.72% or 0.58 points to trade at 12.87 at the close. Luxottica Group (MI:LUX) added 1.87% or 0.86 points to end at 46.80 and Snam (MI:SRG) was up 1.10% or 0.050 points to 4.580 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which lost 9.17% or 0.0213 points to trade at 0.2110 in late trade. Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) declined 3.67% or 0.0139 points to end at 0.3645 and Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO) shed 3.52% or 0.084 points to 2.302.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 101 and 21 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.75% or 0.78 to $43.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.98% or 0.92 to hit $45.43 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.06% or 0.75 to trade at $1304.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1118, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8886.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.07.
