Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Chemicals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which rose 2.90% or 0.63 points to trade at 22.38 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 2.88% or 0.0137 points to end at 0.4890 and Unicredit (MI:CRDI) was up 2.64% or 0.0740 points to 2.8720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Luxottica Group (MI:LUX), which lost 2.02% or 1.05 points to trade at 51.05 in late trade. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) declined 1.65% or 0.37 points to end at 22.02 and Brembo (MI:BRBI) shed 1.64% or 0.90 points to 54.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 207 to 132 and 23 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.41% or 0.72 to $51.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.76% or 0.95 to hit $54.97 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.89% or 10.00 to trade at $1139.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0459, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 102.71.
