Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB lost 2.40% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Tod'S (MILAN:TOD), which rose 0.65% or 0.55 points to trade at 84.75 at the close. Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS) added 0.11% or 0.01 points to end at 9.38 and World Duty Free SpA (MILAN:WDF) was down 0.20% or 0.020 points to 10.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI), which lost 4.83% or 0.355 points to trade at 6.995 in late trade. Banco Popolare (MILAN:BAPO) declined 4.52% or 0.6800 points to end at 14.3700 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) shed 4.12% or 0.0740 points to 1.7200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 416 to 51 and 1 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.66% or 0.40 to $60.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.89% or 0.57 to hit $64.06 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.73% or 8.60 to trade at $1187.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1276, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.7241.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 95.17.
