Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB declined 1.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 2.37% or 0.22 points to trade at 9.52 at the close. Snam (MILAN:SRG) added 1.44% or 0.062 points to end at 4.382 and Ansaldo STS (MILAN:STS) was up 0.11% or 0.01 points to 9.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Moncler SpA (MILAN:MONC), which lost 3.50% or 0.59 points to trade at 16.28 in late trade. Fondiaria - Sai (MILAN:US) declined 3.42% or 0.078 points to end at 2.204 and Autogrill (MILAN:AGL) shed 3.03% or 0.23 points to 7.51.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 343 to 99 and 6 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.86% or 0.49 to $57.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.73% or 0.46 to hit $62.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.46% or 5.40 to trade at $1163.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1091, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.7104.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 96.24.
