Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Monday, as in the sectors propelled shares .

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which rose 7.90% or 1.86 points to trade at 25.34 at the close. Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) added 5.54% or 1.35 points to end at 25.71 and Moncler SpA (BIT:MONC) was up 4.16% or 2.05 points to 51.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ERG (BIT:ERG), which lost 0.89% or 0.18 points to trade at 20.16 in late trade. A2A SpA (BIT:A2) declined 0.83% or 0.02 points to end at 2.16 and Hera (BIT:HRA) shed 0.82% or 0.03 points to 3.41.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 342 to 178 and 41 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.11% or 0.08 to $74.04 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.18% or 0.14 to hit $76.65 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 3.74 to trade at $2,650.96 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 108.11.
