Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as in the sectors propelled shares .

The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were A2A SpA (BIT:A2), which rose 3.20% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.92 at the close. Recordati (BIT:RECI) added 1.27% or 0.65 points to end at 51.75 and Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) was up 0.90% or 0.17 points to 18.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which lost 2.31% or 0.54 points to trade at 22.81 in late trade. Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) declined 1.96% or 0.22 points to end at 11.27 and Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU) shed 1.74% or 1.55 points to 87.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 268 to 219 and 55 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.94% or 1.55 to $81.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.46% or 1.22 to hit $84.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.50 to trade at $2,466.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 103.53.
