Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 2.55% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Snam SpA (BIT:SRG), which rose 2.43% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.47 at the close. Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:TRN) added 2.02% or 0.15 points to end at 7.67 and Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) was up 1.81% or 0.09 points to 4.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:AZMT), which lost 6.12% or 1.39 points to trade at 21.33 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 5.77% or 1.71 points to end at 27.86 and Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) shed 5.37% or 0.12 points to 2.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 439 to 119 and 28 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.05% or 2.33 to $73.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.70% or 2.15 to hit $77.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $2,480.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.05% at 103.11.
