Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Chemicals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.19% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which unchanged 0.63% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.22 at the close. Hera (BIT:HRA) added 0.47% or 0.02 points to end at 3.41 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was up 0.20% or 0.20 points to 100.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG), which lost 5.16% or 0.60 points to trade at 11.03 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) declined 3.90% or 0.18 points to end at 4.49 and Azimut Holding SpA (BIT:AZMT) shed 3.55% or 0.85 points to 23.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 391 to 129 and 38 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.18% or 0.14 to $78.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.12% or 0.10 to hit $82.50 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.78% or 41.95 to trade at $2,312.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.75.
