Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.98% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU), which rose 0.93% or 0.85 points to trade at 92.70 at the close. Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) added 0.59% or 0.20 points to end at 33.83 and Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) was down 0.34% or 0.04 points to 11.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS), which lost 4.93% or 0.24 points to trade at 4.63 in late trade. Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) declined 4.47% or 1.09 points to end at 23.31 and Banco Bpm SpA (BIT:BAMI) shed 4.35% or 0.28 points to 6.16.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 349 to 135 and 42 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.44% or 0.34 to $78.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.55% or 0.45 to hit $82.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.00 to trade at $2,329.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 104.96.
