Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which rose 3.44% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.64 at the close. Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) added 1.06% or 0.06 points to end at 6.09 and Hera (BIT:HRA) was down 0.18% or 0.01 points to 3.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which lost 7.86% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.25 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 6.27% or 1.58 points to end at 23.54 and Interpump Group (BIT:ITPG) shed 4.79% or 2.14 points to 42.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 436 to 92 and 36 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.70% or 1.20 to $69.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.82% or 0.60 to hit $72.79 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.71% or 45.29 to trade at $2,608.01 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.50% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 108.10.
