Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Hera (BIT:HRA), which rose 1.37% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.56 at the close. A2A SpA (BIT:A2) added 1.07% or 0.02 points to end at 2.08 and Enel (BIT:ENEI) was up 0.80% or 0.06 points to 7.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which lost 3.90% or 2.40 points to trade at 59.20 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 3.08% or 0.82 points to end at 25.83 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) shed 2.73% or 0.14 points to 4.91.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 363 to 125 and 31 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.11% or 1.46 to $67.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.10% or 1.53 to hit $71.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 13.25 to trade at $2,529.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.19.
