Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU), which rose 3.91% or 3.65 points to trade at 97.05 at the close. Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) added 3.19% or 0.07 points to end at 2.36 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) was up 1.57% or 0.52 points to 33.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM), which lost 4.13% or 0.80 points to trade at 18.54 in late trade. Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) declined 3.66% or 0.34 points to end at 8.96 and Recordati (BIT:RECI) shed 2.54% or 1.26 points to 48.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 259 to 209 and 37 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.54% or 0.44 to $81.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.45% or 0.38 to hit $84.85 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.11% or 25.65 to trade at $2,338.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 105.53.
