Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Chemicals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI), which rose 2.37% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.29 at the close. Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) added 1.12% or 0.05 points to end at 4.86 and Recordati (BIT:RECI) was up 0.45% or 0.22 points to 49.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR), which lost 2.22% or 0.32 points to trade at 14.09 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) declined 2.18% or 0.10 points to end at 4.44 and Ferrari NV (BIT:RACE) shed 1.79% or 7.10 points to 389.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 304 to 187 and 40 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.27% or 0.22 to $80.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.12% or 0.10 to hit $84.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 17.90 to trade at $2,312.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 105.68.
