Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Travel & Leisure and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which rose 2.21% or 0.50 points to trade at 23.14 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) added 1.42% or 0.045 points to end at 3.216 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was up 1.09% or 0.0080 points to 0.7400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which lost 3.28% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.90 in late trade. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) declined 2.70% or 0.20 points to end at 7.29 and Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) shed 2.21% or 0.0760 points to 3.3700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 190 to 146 and 30 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.79% or 1.13 to $61.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.88% or 1.25 to hit $65.27 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 2.00 to trade at $1320.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.2210, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.8856.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 90.48.
