Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (BIT:FBK), which rose 3.28% or 0.50 points to trade at 15.75 at the close. Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) added 2.36% or 0.17 points to end at 7.14 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) was up 2.26% or 2.24 points to 101.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eni SpA (BIT:ENI), which lost 1.59% or 0.23 points to trade at 14.01 in late trade. Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) declined 1.46% or 0.04 points to end at 2.37 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) shed 1.20% or 0.37 points to 30.42.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 253 to 228 and 47 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.15% or 0.93 to $79.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.07% or 0.91 to hit $83.94 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.49% or 36.20 to trade at $2,465.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.08.
