Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 3.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which rose 18.36% or 0.3360 points to trade at 2.1660 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) added 16.19% or 0.418 points to end at 3.000 and Unipol (MI:UNPI) was up 12.78% or 0.248 points to 2.188 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Italcementi (MI:ITAI), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to trade at 10.560 in late trade. Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 0.21% or 0.03 points to end at 14.34 and Snam (MI:SRG) gained 0.29% or 0.015 points to 5.240.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 322 to 77 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.38% or 0.17 to $45.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.54% or 0.25 to hit $46.65 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.45% or 6.10 to trade at $1356.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1046, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8531.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.40.
