Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.13% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Ferrari NV (MI:RACE), which rose 4.35% or 2.75 points to trade at 65.90 at the close. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) added 3.12% or 0.1060 points to end at 3.5080 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) was up 2.82% or 0.136 points to 4.958 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST), which lost 2.03% or 0.130 points to trade at 6.270 in late trade. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) declined 0.79% or 0.080 points to end at 10.010 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (MI:UNPI) shed 0.10% or 0.004 points to 3.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 267 to 84 and 12 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.42% or 0.20 to $47.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $50.66 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.85 to trade at $1246.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0783, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8610.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 99.54.
