Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 4.50% or 0.64 points to trade at 14.86 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) added 4.01% or 0.2400 points to end at 6.2300 and Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) was up 2.18% or 0.53 points to 24.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MI:TENR), which lost 2.22% or 0.2800 points to trade at 12.3200 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) declined 1.89% or 0.0061 points to end at 0.3170 and ENI (MI:ENI) shed 0.96% or 0.1400 points to 14.3700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 226 to 91 and 19 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.90% or 0.41 to $45.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.29% or 0.60 to hit $47.26 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.05% or 13.95 to trade at $1318.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1004, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.8351.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 97.19.
