Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol (MI:UNPI), which rose 2.09% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.424 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 1.04% or 0.0055 points to end at 0.5350 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was up 0.98% or 0.040 points to 4.110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which lost 1.44% or 0.33 points to trade at 22.51 in late trade. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 0.74% or 0.04 points to end at 5.33 and Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) shed 0.72% or 0.0026 points to 0.3583.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 196 to 131 and 25 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.30% or 0.16 to $53.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.46% or 0.26 to hit $56.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.25% or 2.95 to trade at $1155.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.0541, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8543.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 102.26.
