Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 1.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which rose 3.60% or 0.42 points to trade at 12.08 at the close. Banco Popolare (MILAN:BAPO) added 3.56% or 0.5500 points to end at 16.0000 and Atlantia (MILAN:ATL) was up 2.22% or 0.54 points to 24.87 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW), which lost 0.27% or 0.005 points to trade at 1.879 in late trade. Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) declined 0.13% or 0.04 points to end at 30.19 and Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) gained 0.06% or 0.01 points to 7.86.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 300 to 156 and 3 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.80% or 0.79 to $44.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.66% or 1.31 to hit $50.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.06% or 11.60 to trade at $1105.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.0997, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.7058.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 97.36.
