Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Banca Monte Paschi Siena (MILAN:BMPS), which fell 0.90% or 0.0055 points to trade at 0.6040 at the close. Banco Popolare (MILAN:BAPO) fell 0.35% or 0.0500 points to end at 14.3900 and Banca Popolare Milano (MILAN:PMII) was down 1.31% or 0.0125 points to 0.9430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which lost 1.61% or 0.15 points to trade at 9.49 in late trade. ENI (MILAN:ENI) added 0.31% or 0.05 points to end at 16.04 and CNH Industrial NV (MILAN:CNHI) gained 0.40% or 0.030 points to 7.475.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 258 to 206 and 7 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 3.07% or 1.58 to $49.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.53% or 1.50 to hit $57.70 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.20 to trade at $1199.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0906, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7330.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 97.51.
