Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS), which rose 6.72% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.03 at the close. UniCredit SpA (BIT:CRDI) added 4.79% or 1.56 points to end at 34.16 and Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) was up 3.78% or 2.14 points to 58.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which lost 0.47% or 0.47 points to trade at 99.68 in late trade. Interpump Group (BIT:ITPG) declined 0.27% or 0.10 points to end at 36.88 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) gained 0.18% or 0.05 points to 28.28.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 385 to 118 and 34 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.21% or 2.35 to $75.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 2.79% or 2.13 to hit $78.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.05 to trade at $2,434.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.00.
