Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Travel & Leisure sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI), which rose 4.80% or 0.146 points to trade at 3.190 at the close. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) added 3.90% or 0.1600 points to end at 4.2600 and Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII) was up 3.49% or 0.156 points to 4.628 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 3.62% or 0.1320 points to trade at 3.5140 in late trade. Tenaris (MI:TENR) declined 1.54% or 0.18 points to end at 11.52 and Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT) shed 0.72% or 0.13 points to 18.01.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 231 to 136 and 16 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.20% or 0.10 to $51.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $56.49 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.46% or 5.93 to trade at $1287.87 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1843, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.92.
