Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI), which rose 4.68% or 0.32 points to trade at 7.27 at the close. Poste Italiane SpA (BIT:PST) added 4.32% or 0.52 points to end at 12.69 and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (BIT:ISP) was up 3.54% or 0.13 points to 3.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Recordati (BIT:RECI), which lost 6.83% or 3.58 points to trade at 48.82 in late trade. DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS) declined 5.79% or 6.04 points to end at 98.36 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) shed 2.82% or 0.24 points to 8.26.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 269 to 225 and 46 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.46% or 1.11 to $74.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.29% or 1.02 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 6.75 to trade at $2,432.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 104.36.
