Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI), which rose 4.32% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.09 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) added 2.58% or 0.16 points to end at 6.37 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) was up 2.54% or 0.19 points to 7.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ERG (BIT:ERG), which lost 0.79% or 0.16 points to trade at 20.02 in late trade. Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:TRN) declined 0.30% or 0.02 points to end at 7.94 and Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) shed 0.28% or 0.02 points to 5.67.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 327 to 203 and 56 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.87% or 0.61 to $69.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.73% or 0.54 to hit $73.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 6.89 to trade at $2,674.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.16.
