Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 3.31% or 0.40 points to trade at 12.50 at the close. Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) added 3.13% or 0.1080 points to end at 3.5640 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was up 2.89% or 0.290 points to 10.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI), which lost 3.04% or 0.1180 points to trade at 3.7620 in late trade. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) declined 1.96% or 0.054 points to end at 2.698 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) shed 1.58% or 0.150 points to 9.365.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 224 to 135 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.60% or 0.34 to $56.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.34% or 0.21 to hit $62.43 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.60% or 7.63 to trade at $1282.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1741, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8874.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.89.
