Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Communication and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were Delek Drilling LP (TA:DEDRp), which rose 3.21% or 51 points to trade at 1640 at the close. Elbit Systems (TA:ESLT) added 3.14% or 940 points to end at 30860 and Avner L (TA:AVNRp) was up 2.50% or 7.2 points to 295.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Osem (TA:OSEM), which lost 1.52% or 124 points to trade at 8047 in late trade. Discount (TA:DSCT) declined 1.40% or 9.5 points to end at 667.0 and Ormat Technologies (TA:ORA) shed 1.27% or 190.00 points to 14740.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 188 to 162 and 107 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 3.57% or 1.90 to $55.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 2.27% or 1.35 to hit $61.16 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.70 to trade at $1195.30 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.21% to 3.9703, while EUR/ILS fell 0.20% to 4.2126.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 99.18.
