Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Banking and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 3.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 18.11% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.150 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) added 6.51% or 0.25 points to end at 4.09 and Titan Cement (AT:TTNr) was up 3.48% or 0.730 points to 21.690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr), which lost 14.66% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.099 in late trade. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) declined 13.82% or 0.017 points to end at 0.106 and Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) shed 13.51% or 0.015 points to 0.096.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 25 and 4 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.84% or 20.70 to $1148.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.07% or 0.03 to hit $41.30 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.23 to trade at $46.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.7142.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 96.03.
